RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:

Any

Dear Birthmother,

Dear Expectant Mother,

Although we don’t know you personally, we have been praying for you since we began our journey to adopt. In addition to providing a loving home for your child, we have a loving extended family looking forward to embracing another member. In 2020, we adopted our son and have found new levels of both hard work and joy we never knew existed. We feel strongly that our family still has room to grow, and given the way he interacts with his younger cousins, we know our son will be a great brother.

We imagine summer weekends at the lake, hikes in the mountains, trips to the beach, and silly games played together with cousins and neighbors. Being a veterinarian, Wesley looks forward to sharing his passion for animals, and Preston hopes to share his love of team sports. We will support them in their interests and encourage their passions, whatever they might be! We have a wonderful community at the church Preston pastors and a strong network of friends who will all be a positive part of this child’s life. We pride ourselves in being part of communities that are deeply committed to working for peace and justice in our world.

Your child will have so many opportunities to grow and learn and become who they want to be, will be raised with respect and good values, and will be deeply and unconditionally loved by a caring family.

With love,
Wesley & Preston

About

About Us

Originally from Tennessee, we now live in the Midwest with our son, who we were blessed to adopt in 2020. Wesley is a veterinary doctor who loves sharing his passion for animals and agriculture. Preston is a Christian minister of a loving and welcoming church. We enjoy sports and cheering on our alma mater, the University of Tennessee Volunteers, as well as hiking, camping, and generally being outside whatever the weather. We try our best to make the most of every season and are always on the lookout for adventures the whole family can enjoy together. We are season passholders to the zoo and a local amusement park, are big fans of the fair, and can be found in the summer kayaking or swimming. Because Wesley’s job often involves traveling domestically and internationally, we have ample opportunity to travel together and love exposing our son to new places and cultures.

Home

Our Home

We live in a mid-size university town in the Midwest with our son, where we enjoy the outdoors, attending community events, and hanging out with our neighbors in our family-friendly neighborhood. (We had almost 300 kids come by to trick-or-treat last year!) Our son loves playing with other kids at the park down the street and playing with our dog in our big backyard. We like going to the local apple orchard in the fall, going to the Christmas tree lighting in the town square at Christmas, and indulging our son’s love of trains at the railroad museum.

Extended Family Extended Family

Our Extended Family

Our extended family is wonderfully diverse and loving and is composed of both biological and chosen members. Wesley has one sister and two step-brothers, all of whom are married with children. Preston has two sisters, also married with children. All together we have nine nieces and nephews. Beyond our immediate family, we have a large network of cousins, aunts, and uncles across the country who are supportive and quick to invite us to their corner of the world for visits.

Both Wesley’s dad and stepmom and his mom live on farms in West Tennessee with plenty of adventures to be had. Preston’s parents live just 20 minutes from Great Smoky Mountain National Park and close to downtown Knoxville. When all the cousins get together, it is wonderful chaos. Our extended family is diverse racially, religiously, and regionally, and yet somehow it all comes together.

Above all, our extended family is fiercely loyal and endlessly supportive. Whatever your child’s interests or hobbies, our extended family will be there cheering them on and helping them pursue their dreams.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

Before seminary, Preston worked with children in foster care and saw firsthand the beauty of adoption. We knew early on in our relationship that we would pursue adoption when it was time to grow our family, and having close family and friends who are adopted encouraged us to pursue this dream. In 2020, our adopted son was born, and his mother gave us the greatest gift imaginable. After careful thought and prayer, we have concluded our family still has room to grow, and we look forward to meeting the next member of our family.
