RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:
Any
Dear Birthmother,
Thank you so much for reading our story and considering us! It may sound strange, but you are the most courageous, selfless, and admirable woman we know, and yet we have not met. We hope you feel supported and loved and offer all the same to you during this brave journey you are undertaking.
We have experienced, like you have, that sometimes life does not always go as planned, but we hope you find peace in your decision knowing that if you choose us, your baby will be raised in a loving, happy, understanding, and stable home. It would be an honor to have the responsibility of ensuring your child becomes the best version of themselves, and we will support them as they do so. We are not perfect, but we promise your child will learn about love, respect, determination, fun, hard work, and enjoying life to its fullest.
We have thought for a long time about what it will be like to meet you and to learn of your hopes and dreams for your child. We hope we get that opportunity. We cannot fully articulate how much gratitude we hold in our hearts, and you can be assured that the gift you will give us will never be taken for granted. You and your child are in our thoughts!
About Us
We are a loving, caring, sometimes goofy, and down-to-earth couple! Steph is kind, outgoing, and giving and loves to plan everything and anything. While she prefers to live in the moment, Mike is more laidback and goes with the flow. Mike is artistic, creative, patient, and extremely optimistic. When Mike is not working as a supervisor for a popular wholesale store, he loves to draw and paint oil paintings. Steph enjoys baking cakes and sweets for birthdays and special occasions when not working as a global mobility program manager for an investment firm. We both love being active outdoors, hanging out at home watching movies (We are avid Disney and Harry Potter fans!), spending time with our family, and taking hikes on our property. We definitely enjoy trying out new recipes together and exploring new places to visit. We also love all sports, with baseball being our favorite. Go Yankees!
Our Home
We were raised in Connecticut but settled in a small and quiet town that is perfect for raising a child! We live in a wonderful and safe community where children can be seen riding their bikes or playing with their friends outside. Being passionate about education, we live in an area that has a top-rated school district. We are near major cities yet live in a cozy house in the countryside with all that nature has to offer. We love our fur babies: Winchester (eight-year-old black mouth cur mix), Charlie (four-year-old black mouth cur mix), and Binx (five-year-old tuxedo cat). Our dogs are named after our favorite TV show characters, while Binx is named after one of our favorite movies. If you know, you know!
Our Extended Family
Family means everything to us, which is why we moved from Texas to the Northeast last year to be closer! However, 2023 and the start of 2024 were very challenging for us. We learned that Mike’s father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer while being the sole caretaker for Mike’s mother, who has battled multiple sclerosis since Mike was one year old. Mike is an only child, so we quickly stepped in to take care of both of them and did not get the opportunity to start getting settled in our home in New Hampshire until this past spring.
All of our family and close friends live in Connecticut with the exception of our godson and his family in Tennessee and Steph’s best friend and her family, who became our family while in Texas. We FaceTime, text, and talk daily with all of our relatives, and we visit Connecticut every chance we are able; our family visits us quite frequently as well.
Mike has a very small family, so his cousins feel like sisters and brothers. Mike was quickly welcomed into Steph’s large family. She was an only child for ten years until her brother was born, who was followed by her sister a year after that. Stephanie’s sister adopted our nephew (whom we playfully call the Bub), and he is a joy to spoil. The Bub stays with us over the summer, and we go on many adventures. Stephanie has many cousins we enjoy going on trips with, including Disney, craft fairs, and seasonal festivals!
What Led Us To Adoption
It has always been our dream to start a family. After experiencing infertility issues and failing to get pregnant, we were heartbroken and felt lost for a time. However, we have a lot of love to give and a great home we can’t wait to share with a little one. We are very excited to open our home and our hearts to adoption. The decision to adopt has brought a new sense of positivity and purpose in our lives. We’re hopeful it will make our dreams of starting a family a reality. We have seen all of the remarkably positive impacts of adoption as our nephew was adopted, Steph’s best friend was adopted, and Mike’s father and aunts were all adopted by Mike’s grandmother.
