RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:
Caucasian, Caucasian/Hispanic, Caucasian/Asian, Caucasian/African American
Dear Birthmother,
Dear Expectant Mother,
We’ve thought of so many different ways to address you and to know your situation with so many different hypothetical answers. Just like your baby, we haven't met you yet, but we know the decisions you make now are a true testament of the love you have for your baby. Not only have you decided to choose a family worthy of loving and giving this child a beautiful life but you have also made a huge sacrifice yourself. We know it is not a decision you have come by easily but our hope is that through the unconditional love, safety, financial security, stability, education, and nurturing home we can provide, you will find peace.
What we have learned through the stories of others is that the adoption journey is unique, beautiful, and often bittersweet. While we are over-the-moon grateful to finally have a chance to have the family we have always wanted and dreamed of, we understand this is not the dream you had for yourself and your family. It is with this respect, understanding, and empathy that we offer a supportive, caring relationship to you too. You are not just our angel momma but you are a vital piece of the puzzle that we want our child to know and love.
Sincerely,
Sport & Secillia
About Us
We are best friends who love spending as much time together as possible, whether it is going for an adventure in one of our state parks, working together in our garden, golfing, learning new recipes, or sitting on our couch watching silly television shows. Sport is very kind and nurturing and gladly tackles his neverending honey-do list. He likes to work on clearing parts of our land along with working in the yard on his tractor. He is a lineman for our local electric co-op and truly enjoys going in to work every day. Secillia is passionate, self-motivated, and a natural caregiver. When someone in the family is sick, she will undoubtedly nurture them back to health. She is a nurse at one of our bigger hospitals in the state and is very dedicated to giving her patients the best care within her power.
Our Home
We live in the country in a home we designed and built on 40 woodland acres. It really is quite serene. We live next to a large lake where we can swim, boat, kayak, and do any water activity you can think of! We are also close to a variety of outdoor activities, such as river floats, family-oriented festivals, and two different golf courses. Our happiest place is at home with our three fur babies. We have two one-year-old chi-poo puppies (The Dickens and Scotty) and a seven-year-old sweetheart (Candice) that we brought home and nurtured back to optimal health from a local dirt road.
Our Extended Family
We are both 100% granny’s babies. Secillia was adopted and raised by her maternal grandmother and grandfather, which was a package deal with granny’s 13 brothers, sisters, and all of their offspring! Sport grew up spending a lot of time with both of his grandmothers. With that being said, our little ones will be spoiled rotten by their future grannies, Papa Clyde, Uncle Kevin, a slew of cousins, and the close friends we chose as our family! They are all so excited and praying for the day they get to meet our bundle(s) of joy!
Our biggest family traditions revolve around large family meals, whether it is a holiday, a reunion, or just because we need to see each other’s faces. We love to make meals from scratch together, especially if it is something we have never made before. We also open our Christmas presents on Christmas Eve, and we love surprises. Some of the traditions from childhood that we plan to master are canning vegetables from the garden, summer vacations, and bedtime stories.
What Led Us To Adoption
We decided early on that we wanted to adopt. Our plan was to have a biological child and then to grow our family through the miracle of adoption, but that was not part of God’s plan for us. After taking our time to process the many emotions that accompanied the reality we faced, we are ready to begin our adoption journey! We have friends who were adopted and their stories have been so empowering and filled our hearts with hope. We have no doubt that we are exactly in the place we are meant to be and someday our home will be filled with the pitter patter of little feet and more joy and love than we could have ever imagined possible!
