We are deeply committed to ensuring your child knows of your sacrifice; we do not take it lightly. Although we have never met you, our hope is that while reading our profile, you have gained a sense of who we are as a family and who we would be as parents. About Us
We are Mark and Pam from Kentucky. We were introduced by mutual friends in February of 2013, and by March we began dating. Mark is very outgoing and can make friends with just about anyone. Pam is more reserved and quiet, which is what drew her to Mark's outgoing personality. We have been married for five years now and enjoy making each other laugh. We like to have date nights that include cooking together, board games, and the occasional competitive game of putt-putt. Mark works for the local electrical company and has been there for the past five years. Pam is a community support associate within a therapy practice. For the past two and a half years, she has worked with pediatric clients on their mental health goals. We own a home in a quiet area where we look forward to raising a child.
Our Home
We live in a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home on an acre of land. The neighborhood we live in is full of families with children, which is one of the reasons we chose the neighborhood. We knew we wanted to settle down somewhere with a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, but we are only a 30-minute drive into the city. It was important for us to be near family and friends when deciding on where we would make our home. Our boat is docked at a nearby lake, and there are multiple parks within our community. We have three dogs (Rocky, Copper, and Hans) and one cat (Binx) that have absolutely stolen our hearts. Our animals are very gentle and have great manners around children.
Our Extended Family
Pam’s family is very close, and that extends to the relationships with aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pam was raised in a tight-knit family. She is close with her mom and recently lost her dad. He instilled in her core values and a love that deserves to be passed down to a child. Pam has an older sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. Pam and her sister have a very close bond she treasures.
Mark has a large extended family. Mark’s mom and dad raised him, his brother, and his sister in a nurturing and loving home. Mark’s family has a farm with 90 acres in a neighboring county where they enjoy spending time together and being outdoors. One of their favorite yearly events is a family reunion at the lake. Mark's brother lives three houses down, while Mark’s sister is eight minutes away; we see them often.
Our interests vary from enjoying craft fairs, concerts, and musicals to boating, camping, and woodworking. Holidays and monthly dinners are very important to our families, and we make sure to spend special time with each other.
What Led Us To Adoption
Adoption has always been a part of our family planning since the beginning of our relationship. We were able to witness firsthand how amazing the gift of life is through the adoption process. We gained our nephew through the love of adoption; he is now seven years old and looks forward to having a new cousin. While we have tried to conceive over the years in our marriage, infertility has prevented us from becoming biological parents. It’s important for us to continue to build our lives alongside family and friends, but there is a hole in our hearts that can only be filled by the light of a child.
