RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:

Any

Dear Birthmother,

Dear Expectant Mother,

As we were putting together our profile, this was by far the hardest part. Not knowing you, it is impossible for us to understand your situation that brought you to the idea of adoption. With that being said, we understand the courage and strength it takes to get to this point. We hope you will take the time to get to know us and hopefully learn that we are more than just a bunch of cute pictures.

In 2019 we met while both serving in the Navy. We can tell you that our story did not start off with love but with friendship. We were both going through divorces, and one of us had children to think about. Our struggles brought us closer together, and it was nice to have someone who understood what each other was going through. Since then, our relationship has only grown. When you see us together, unless you ask the children directly, you would never know who the bonus parent is because there is equal love from both of us. Even on our worst of days, we know we’re stuck because we are each other’s best friend.

We understand you have already demonstrated your great love for your baby just by taking adoption into consideration, and for that, you have our highest respect. If given the chance, we would love the opportunity to prove ourselves and the love we have to give.

Forever grateful,
Mary and Judge

About

About Us

Hello there, we are ecstatic to have this chance to introduce ourselves. Walter (age 10) and Catherine (7) are our two children. Judge is a welder currently employed by a Navy contractor, and Mary is a radiologic technologist in the Navy. Judge fixes boats; Mary fixes people. We were friends first, and the foundation of our friendship was based on love and laughter for our friends and family, as well as the value of being honest. We like to go hiking or hang out with friends on the weekends. We also enjoy spending a lazy day at home, playing with the dogs, building bonfires, or even letting the kids play in mud puddles.

Home

Our Home

We currently reside in a single-family home with a large backyard in a lovely suburban area, for the kids and pets to play in. We find value in going on adventures and spending time outside in this technologically advanced society. We have the best of both worlds where we live—we can spend one day at the beach and the next in the mountains in the heart of Virginia. There are numerous after-school programs available through our fantastic educational systems.

Extended Family Extended Family

Our Extended Family

We have a fairly large family. Judge has two brothers and one sister. Mary, in addition to her adopted brother, has two brothers and one sister. Our families are far away from one another, yet we still manage to get together at least once a year. For Mary’s side of the family, we always get together for Christmas. The grandchildren know that grandma will have a Christmas tree in every room of the house. Judge's side is less planned, but we can always expect at least one family photo.

We are blessed to have two children. Walter would much rather be outside doing anything. He is an extremely outgoing person till his little sister is present. We are still attempting to persuade him that she is old enough to ride a bike without training wheels. Catherine is the family's creative member. Rather than toys, she is captivated with paints, markers, and colored pencils.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

Like many others, we came to adoption after dealing with years of infertility. Due to medical reasons, we knew early on that IVF would be our only option. Though it was expensive, we thought it was a sure way to add to our family. After our first failure, however, our perspective began to change. In total, we have had three IVF failures over a three-year period. With our savings drained and our hearts broken, we had to dive deep into what we really wanted as a couple, and the answer was simple: We wanted to grow our family. Nothing else seemed to matter.
