RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:
Any
Dear Birthmother,
We want to thank you. We are so humbled to be considered. We have an immense amount of respect and admiration for you considering adoption. While we cannot pretend to know what this is like, we would be forever grateful if chosen.
If we are fortunate to raise your child, we can promise you your child will be surrounded by support, love, and warmth. We have an incredible amount of love and respect for one another, and we know our marriage has provided us a strong foundation for parenthood. We know our kids would love having another sibling, and we have extensive extended family and friends who cannot wait for us to grow our family. We are also fortunate to live in a diverse community where our children can develop and mature surrounded by all types of people.
We will continue to travel and explore with our children, introducing them to sports, music, books, animals, nature, history, and anything else they have an interest in. We are fortunate to have varied life experiences and resources, which we will use to provide every opportunity possible. We can promise you we will do whatever we can to make sure your child has the best upbringing we can provide them, and we will encourage our child to be true to themself.
About Us
Hi! We are April and Liz, two hardworking, fun-loving, passionate women who were fortunate to find each other. We bring out the best in one another, challenge each other, and are quick with a laugh! We have two amazing kids, Teddy and Niamh. We thrive on trying new things and exploring, whether that is within our town or in a different state or country. Our kiddos love to travel with us, and we love showing them new places and new activities. We also love going to the grocery store as a family as well as to the playground, gymnastics class, and the pool and hanging out with family and friends. We love to cook, read books, and find new TV series. We are both attorneys, and we are dedicated to our jobs and happy to have rewarding positions with a great balance between work and home.
Our Home
Our neighborhood has many parks and a pool. There are also several playgrounds, walking paths, duck feeding ponds, sports fields, etc. We are surrounded by diverse families, many with babies and young children. A daycare is in our neighborhood, and we walk the kids to school every day. We see the kids’ friends throughout the neighborhood, and we love that our neighborhood is such a close-knit and supportive community. An elementary school and large library are both within walking distance. Our house is full of love, warmth, and laughter. It has plenty of space for your child to grow and play. We have two pugs, and they both love kids. They are laid back and love to snuggle and play with the kids.
Our Extended Family
Liz is the youngest of four children, with a very large extended family. Liz’s family celebrates many traditions throughout the year, but the ones we are most excited about involve her family’s heritage and culture. Liz is the godparent for many of her five nieces and nephews, and we both play an active role in their lives. April has a younger sister, who has a son a few months younger than our daughter. April’s favorite family traditions involve watching college football, going to movies, and our Christmas Eve celebrations.
Both our families adore our kids. We FaceTime at least one set of the grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews every night for a few minutes. We see our extended family several times throughout the year, and our kids love having so many adoring family members doting on them.
We both have family recipes and traditions that were passed down for generations and look forward to continuing these while creating our own with our children.
What Led Us To Adoption
We were led to adoption because we both have significant people in our lives who were either adopted or adopted a child themselves. Before we adopted Teddy, we attempted to conceive through IUI and IVF. It was unsuccessful and we experienced a miscarriage, which led us to pursue adoption. Our adoption with Teddy was one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives. We will never stop sending love and gratitude to his birthmom. After Teddy was adopted, Liz was fortunate to give birth to Niamh. Parenting our kids is incredibly joyful, and we desire to grow our family. We attempted to conceive a third child via IVF but were unsuccessful, which led us to pursue adoption again.
