RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:

Hispanic, Asian, Caucasian/Hispanic, Caucasian/African American, African American/Hispanic

Dear Birthmother,

There is truly no fitting way to thank you and express our gratitude. The decision you are making is surely difficult but also extremely selfless. It is our hope that our words and pictures have inspired you to choose us as a perfect fit for your baby. The love we have to give and the excitement we feel about welcoming a new child is unmatched, and it would not be possible without your strength and courage. For that, you have our respect and admiration.

If you choose us, it is our promise that their childhood will be filled with so much happiness and adventure. We both grew up with loving families, but neither of us come from high-income households. This motivated us to work hard and sacrifice so that we can provide opportunities for our children that we did not have. We are blessed to now be in a position where we can provide everything and more to our children and provide them the keys to any door they decide to open. We dream of seeing our son playing with and teaching their new sibling, along with going on family trips, cooking family dinners, and creating new family traditions.

We hope we have provided you with some security in knowing that your baby will be safe and happy in our home. We would be honored to be your choice, and we promise your baby will be loved unconditionally, will be protected forever, and will experience a life full of excitement.

About

About Us

Hello! We are Kam and Laura, and we have been married for nine years. We got married right before Kam joined the Navy. This allowed us to see some incredible sights and meet some wonderful people. Laura is a professional nanny with over 20 years of experience working with children, some with special needs, and even teaching children Spanish. Kam recently graduated from college and is loving his career with the federal government responding to natural and manmade disasters. As a couple, we love trying new things with our son, including hiking, camping, trips to theme parks, ice skating, watching movies, and playing games. We believe life is adventure, and we look forward to showing our children that the world is full of amazing things.

Home

Our Home

We live in a beautiful suburb with close access to shopping, entertainment, and three amazing parks. We are so happy we live in a neighborhood that is extremely safe and very festive for the holidays, with the entire neighborhood decorating. Our home has four bedrooms, a den, and a loft. We also have the largest backyard in the neighborhood, with a playground and trampoline. We spend a lot of time in the backyard playing and barbecuing with family. We also have one cat; she is our little diva and loves to cuddle. In our house, we speak both English and Spanish and embrace both the Mexican traditions Laura grew up with and the African American and Native American customs that Kam grew up with.

Extended Family Extended Family

Our Extended Family

We have an interracial family, and we love that our son is being raised to experience multiple cultures. Laura’s family lives a short distance away from us, and we see them constantly. Laura has two older sisters, both of whom she shares a close relationship with. She also has an older brother who is married with two young sons. Laura’s father is sadly no longer with us. Laura’s parents raised them in a traditional Christian home where they would regularly go to church. Growing up, Laura did all major holidays with extended family.

Kam's family lives a little farther away; however, his parents make consistent visits to our house. Lonan loves his grandparents and has a very special bond with Kam's dad. Kam has one older sister who is married with a young son. Growing up, Christmas and Thanksgiving were big celebrations in Kam’s family. Kam grew up very close to his mother; they would have frequent movie nights, and he would often play outside with his dad, who taught him a variety of sports.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

Adoption has been something we have wanted to do since before we got married. We have been trying to get pregnant but have had a difficult time. We decided this is actually a sign that now is the time to pursue adoption. Plus, our son has been begging for a younger sibling. Over the past few years, Kam has been finishing school, transitioning out of the military, and beginning his new career. We have also moved into our beautiful forever home, where we feel we have the space, stability, and resources to welcome another child.
