RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:

Any

Dear Birthmother,

I’m a mother, and I can only imagine how hard this feels. I hope you have the support you need around you to ensure your own mental, physical, and emotional health during this time. I’m honored to be considered worthy of potentially taking care of your child as a parent, and I plan to make excellent use of this humbling privilege.

I’m an independent career woman. I am financially stable and will provide a comfortable life for your child. Beyond the material provisions, I plan to instill the right virtues in your child, provide exceptional parenting, and bring out the best version of your child. I promise to love your baby, my new baby, our baby, as he or she transitions into our home.

Again, I know the decision to enter into the adoption process is one that I, having not experienced it before, can only empathize with. I am an open, transparent, honest person, which means that my word is my bond. There might be many surprises along the way, but I’m ready for the surprises, risks, and challenges that may be present.

Kindest regards,
Jamila

About

About Me

I am a creative, honest, empathetic, self-aware, and organized individual who loves passionately and is committed to lifelong learning. I've worked for several top-tier companies in my career and am currently an executive with a Fortune 100 company. I love watching movies with my 13-year-old son, attending plays, going to professional basketball games and Minor League baseball games, playing the piano, traveling, supporting my son in all of his interests, and experiencing new adventures. My son and I love to cook, and I enjoy eating seafood. My son tends to his garden regularly, and I love spending time with him and helping. I'm an independent and financially stable career woman ready to embark on a new role as a mother of more than my one.

Home

My Home

We live in a quiet, diverse, family-friendly neighborhood in Tennessee. It’s an amazing suburb with a low crime rate, many green areas, trees, an incredible diversity of animals, and really nice houses. We live on a multi-acre lot with our two 3-year-old pups. They are not main-house dogs, but they have their own house. Our dogs are spoiled dogs! Our home is kid friendly and is a great place to raise children. We don’t yet have a pool, but I do plan on breaking ground on one in the next few years. There’s a healthy rapport between my neighbors and me. We’ve gone to church together and have enjoyed meals together. We exchange gifts during the winter holidays. All in all, we have a cool home and neighborhood, and the atmosphere is family-centric.

Extended Family

My Extended Family

I belong to a close-knit family who are all in full support of my decision to bring in a new family member through adoption. I am the oldest of my parents’ three children. My younger sister, who has no children, is the principal of a high school. My younger brother is the father of five lovely children and works as a senior leader for a Fortune 500 company.

My dad was an administrator for a Fortune 100 company and is now retired. He is family oriented and a great father, counselor, and role model. My mom, also retired, was a registered nurse. She is very supportive, caring, strong, and considerate. My parents have been happily married for over 50 years this year (2023). We talk to my parents daily, and they visit us often. I was very close to my maternal grandmother, who helped raise me and my siblings.

As a family bonded by unbroken ties, we value our family events, such as Thanksgiving, which we celebrate yearly at my place, my parents’ house, or my mother's best friend's house. Together we celebrate Christmas, the New Year, birthdays, anniversaries, and other holidays.

Story

What Led Me To Adoption

I'm super excited about the opportunity to adopt a child. I love children and wish to be a parent of a larger family. Since 2011 I’ve nursed the idea of adopting a child. I am deploying my energy and resources to give my future son(s) or daughter(s) a lovely home and future. My son, who is currently my only child, is very excited to have a younger sibling. My home is full of activities, fun, and love but not a big family. It’s just my 13-year-old baby and me! We’ve got the space in our home and, more importantly, the space in our hearts and lives to expand our family.
