Dear Birthmother,
Dear Expectant Mother,
First and foremost, we want to express our respect and gratitude for you. Whatever has brought you to this decision, we are thankful you are considering us to take on the important job of parenting your baby. We both know we are meant to be parents and have no doubt in our minds that we will love your baby unconditionally and give them every opportunity possible.
Here are some promises we can give you: We promise to love your child every day, regardless of anything he or she might do. We promise to always provide a safe and secure home. Whatever involvement you choose in your baby’s life, we promise to tell your child how much you loved them and share how brave you are. We promise to give your child an extended family and community that loves them and supports them as they grow up. We promise to be truthful and open with you and do whatever we can to make you comfortable.
We are so excited for the opportunity to start our family, and we are so grateful you are considering us. Given the chance, we will work together with you to make this experience the best it can be.
About Us
We are Evan and Jamie. We both work in the agricultural field. We both grew up on farms; while Evan grew up with pigs, Jamie grew up around cows. We live just a mile away from Jamie’s parents in a sweet little farmhouse. Although we live in a small town, we are not afraid to take a road trip! We love to travel, even if it’s just a day trip to visit a larger city. Evan is well known among our family and friends for his cooking skills, while Jamie is known to bring the sweet treats. While we both like to think we’re pretty funny, Evan has definitely nailed the “Dad joke.”
Our Home
We live in a very rural area in a close-knit community. We live in a quaint little farmhouse on one of the farms Jamie’s parents own. We are excited to raise a child in a similar way to how we both grew up. We are blessed to have a large group of friends who all have young children. Your child would have no shortage of friends! We also have two dogs in our home. Luna is a Chesapeake Bay retriever (Jamie says she’s a knockoff chocolate lab!), and Chloe is a cavapoo (think of the dog emoji). Both are full of personality, incredibly sweet, and way too spoiled.
Our Extended Family
Evan grew up in Indiana, and we make several trips a year there to visit his parents and extended family. We both have older siblings; Evan’s sister is nine years older, and Jamie’s brother is three years older. We live within a mile of Jamie’s parents and brother and sister-in-law. Both Jamie’s parents and Evan’s dad and stepmother are very involved in their local churches and have given us a good foundation of faith. Evan has a ton of cousins on his stepmom’s side of the family who are all close in age to us. We love going back to see them.
We live in a small community and are lucky to have a large group of friends who are more like family. Many of our friends have children ranging from 0-5 years old. Your child would have no shortage of friends with us! It takes a village to raise a child, and we certainly have a strong village.
What Led Us To Adoption
Jamie has known since she was 15 that getting pregnant might be difficult or even unobtainable. We knew we wanted kids right away, so we didn’t waste any time and started working with a fertility clinic. After realizing Evan had fertility issues as well, we made the decision to pursue adoption. By no means is this a second choice; it is simply a different route to start our family. We both love children (and kids love Evan right back!) and can confidently say your baby will have more than enough love with us. We are fortunate to have good friends who have adopted and shared their story with us. It is an emotional journey, but seeing how much their son has changed their lives makes it all worth it!
