Holly & Steve
RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:
Any
Dear Birthmother,
We aren’t sure of the words to write to express the gratitude and honor we feel to be in consideration of this special gift. We cannot imagine the emotions you are feeling or how it feels to be in your shoes. This decision takes courage, grace, and selflessness, and we hope you know how much we deeply admire you for this.
If you choose us, rest assured your child will grow up with endless love, caring and supportive parents, a community that embraces compassion, and the opportunity for continued education. Our son is the sweetest, most loving boy, so he will welcome this little one with great big, open arms and be the best big brother. Your child will be given opportunities for experiences and adventures to help shape their awareness of the world around them. We look forward to family dinners, park explorations, and trips to the ocean or the mountains just because. Since our family values a good laugh, practical jokes or random silly dance parties are guaranteed.
We sincerely wish you the best of luck in your decision while finding peace and comfort with what you choose to do. We would be honored, grateful, and blessed if you were to choose us for your baby. We would spend each day ensuring we provide the life for your baby you would be proud of.
About Us
Hello! We are Steve and Holly from Washington. We met the last semester of our senior year of college, and we quickly realized both of our hometowns were only 30 minutes away, making us excited to begin this life journey together. Steve is very loyal and hardworking, and he loves to make people laugh with his dad jokes. Holly is compassionate and people oriented and is always up for a good potluck or social gathering with friends and family. We got engaged after five years together and will be celebrating our ten-year wedding anniversary soon. Since family is so important to us, we spend our weekends hosting BBQs, game nights, or movie nights. Living nearby our family and friends has made it easier to enjoy time together. Sharing adventures with our five-year-old is important to us, so we often travel to the beach, zoo, and local community events.
Our Home
We recently moved to Holly’s hometown in Washington State so our son could be in a high-quality school district and closer to our family and friends. The community has a small-town feel and is close to shopping, parks, schools, hiking trails, and zoos. We often take advantage of the mountains, ocean, and warm weather with them only being two hours away. Our home has an open concept-feel with bedrooms upstairs and a large, fenced-in backyard with a garden and covered patio. Our sweet and gentle dog, Lily Mae, is an English bulldog who is the diva of the house and best friends with our son. She is the most patient dog that loves to snuggle and go for walks and enjoys a good butt scratch.
Our Extended Family
We both have families that are fun and active! We live just a few minutes away from Holly’s dad and her sister’s family, and the extended family is only a short plane ride away. All of Steve’s immediate family live within 45 minutes of us, but he also has 19 cousins spread out across the world.
One of the main reasons we relocated was to be closer to Holly’s dad and her sister. It has been fun spending time with her two nephews, who are both active in sports. Holly has an especially close relationship with her sister and is blessed to share the same sentiment with her nephews. Holly’s dad is retired and spends his time going to games, taking pictures, and spending time with his grandson whenever possible.
Steve’s parents live a short drive away. Both are retired from over 30 years of teaching at a local high school. Steve’s sister and her family live close by as well. We often see them at family dinners and birthday bowling celebrations. We get together with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and parents every Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Our son and one of the cousins change into new pajamas after opening gifts on Christmas Eve. It's become a tradition.
What Led Us To Adoption
Adoption has always been something we have considered as a way to build our family. We have been blessed to have family and friends who have gone through this adventure, and we were able to witness the love, admiration, respect, and gratitude for the birthmother and child, which was truly magical. We have struggled with fertility after welcoming our sweet son five years ago, and now that he’s starting kindergarten, we feel as though our hearts are ready to embark on this beautiful journey.
