RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:
Any
Dear Birthmother,
I would like to start by saying how incredibly brave I think you are for navigating this journey of considering adoptive parents for your child. I can’t begin to imagine the emotions you are going through from day to day. I truly appreciate and am honored that you are considering me as an adoptive parent for your baby.
I have an incredible family and village surrounding me and am financially stable enough to provide a loving and safe home for a child. I am excited about the prospect of adding to my family through adoption and embarking on a whole new adventure. I understand motherhood is not easy and every child is different, but if you select me as your child’s adoptive parent, they will always know they are loved and supported throughout their entire life. I will allow them to be their unique self while guiding them to know right from wrong.
I know none of these are easy decisions for you, so please know I am open to and will honor whichever type of adoption you choose.
I hope you know how strong you are to be making these decisions. I truly thank you for taking the time to consider me as an adoptive parent for your child.
With gratitude and love,
Courtney
About Me
I am a strong, easy-going, patient, and kind woman. My family is a top priority for me. I have a toddler son, who is a joy just to be around. My sister is my best friend and lives very close to me with her toddler son. My parents are in the process of moving down the street from me as well. During the week, I take my son to swimming and gymnastics lessons. On the weekends, we go on random adventures to the zoo, aquarium, amusement park, or just the playground or community pool. I am a Director of Operational Risk and have been with the same company for 15 years. I enjoy going for walks, reading, watching movies, and finding adventures with my son, sister, and nephew. I am looking forward to broadening these adventures with a new addition to our family!
My Home
I have a four-year-old bulldog named Lucy. She is protective of her own but also pretty lazy and enjoys lying next to me on the couch or in bed at night. The snoring took some getting used to, but now it’s soothing. We live in a gated community, with many family-friendly events planned throughout the year. There is a community pool with a splash pad and a playground. We also live close to amusement parks, a zoo, and aquariums. Throughout the year, there are fairs and festivals around town, with areas catering to little children.
My Extended Family
I have three siblings. My older sister and her husband have four children, my brother and his wife have five children, and my younger sister has one son. I grew up seeing my grandparents, 17 aunts & uncles, and 16 cousins frequently as my parents instilled the importance of family from a very young age. As a result, I am still close with most of my cousins now that we are adults. As a large family, we usually get together twice a year. We all congregate at either my brother’s house or my aunt and uncle’s house on a nearby lake. We cook out, play games, watch the kids run around, and swim in the pool or lake.
Since my younger sister and her son live so close, we see each other every day and we FaceTime with my parents daily. My older sister and brother’s schedules are more hectic, but we FaceTime with them whenever possible. When my parents are around, my dad brings out his guitar, and we sing some old favorites (mostly Beatles songs) and Christmas carols while my son and nephew dance around. He’s starting to teach me how to play so I can carry on the tradition.
What Led Me To Adoption
I waited to make the decision to become a mom until I knew I was ready, both emotionally and financially. Since I knew I was doing this on my own, I conceived my son through artificial insemination using a sperm donor. Due to complications during my pregnancy, I am not able to have more children. Having grown up with three siblings, I understand how important that bond can be. I want to be able to build and nurture that bond within my own children. Further, I am able to give a child a loving, stable, and safe home with lots of fun to capitalize on their curiosity.
