Dear Birthmother,
Dear Expectant Mother,
We don’t know what your circumstances are that have brought you to this place, but the fact that you are taking responsibility for your child’s future shows just how brave and beautiful you are. We would be honored to be able to provide your child the opportunity to grow up with the support of close extended family, community through the church, and friendships. We are thankful for you and the courageous decision you are making to choose life for your baby
.
We have been married for fourteen years and have three children, ages 12, 10, and 7. Our home is always filled with friends and family, love, laughter, music, and nonstop learning. We look forward to helping your child discover their God given-talents, strengths, abilities, and purpose. Not one single day will pass without your child knowing who they are, how brave and courageous their birthmother is, and how loved and supported they are by us. We are committed to supporting you through this journey in whatever ways you need. We are already proud of you and more thankful for you and your precious baby than you will ever know.
Sincerely with love,
Jeff and Amy
About Us
Our family’s mission is to love God and love people. Jeff is the owner and operator of his own excavating company and a musician who plays the mandolin, bass, guitar, and piano. He enjoys working out, playing hockey, and making renovations to our home. Jeff also serves on the worship team and as an elder at our local church. Amy’s bubbly, outgoing personality is complemented by Jeff’s calm and laid-back demeanor. Amy is a stay-at-home mother and homeschools our two sons. She teaches music lessons, and teaches at the local homeschool co-op. Amy serves on the worship team at our church playing the violin or piano and singing. Amy loves to cook and bake for our family and others in need. Our favorite things to do are explore museums and visit historical places. Our family loves our pets, music, reading, camping, going to the beach, and having family game nights.
Our Home
Our home is a unique and quirky seventy-year-old Cape Cod. We are in PA in the suburbs surrounded by both farms and towns. You don’t have to drive far at all to shop, grab some yummy local food, or find a park to visit. Our neighborhood has both top-notch school districts and a large homeschooling community. In less than an hour, you can travel to historical sites, museums, theaters, and sporting events. Our family loves having one acre of land to play on, host bonfires with friends, and exercise our pets. Our fenced-in front yard is where our dogs, Samson (a yellow Lab) and Delilah (a golden retriever), love to play fetch with our children. We also have a cat named Smokey and a Russian land tortoise named Shelly.
Our Extended Family
We are blessed to have support from and close relationships with our extended family members. Jeff’s parents live right across the street from us. Our children spend a lot of time there playing, swimming, and taking golf cart rides. Jeffs parent’s host family holiday parties and dinners.
Jeff has three older sisters; two are very local, and one lives in Colorado. Jeff’s oldest sister and her husband babysit frequently and love having our children for playdates and sleepovers. On Jeff’s side of the family there are four cousins for our children. They are all young adults who love to hang out with and babysit our kids when needed. Amy’s parents, brother, and sister all live a short drive away, close enough for frequent family parties and dinners for birthdays and holidays. Amy’s sister and her husband have three children close in age to our children. We often have “cousin adventure days” and sleepovers. Amy’s older brother has two children also close in age to ours. Our children are best friends with all their cousins, and we are intentional about spending time with them.
Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are all very much a part of our children’s lives, from phone calls, goofy texts, babysitting, birthdays, holidays, school concerts, and church events.
What Led Us To Adoption
Our family has experienced both the heartbreak of loss and the joy of adoption. In 2015 our third son passed away at two hours old. Through this unexpected loss and grief, our hearts were called to become a foster and adoptive family. In the past five years, we have had five children bless us with their presence. We were thankful to have been able to adopt one of those children, our daughter, in 2021. Our daughter came to us through a mutual friend in our church. Our church community is a tremendous source of support for us. We have several close friends who have adopted, are adopting, and or are foster families. Our family of five is excited to walk alongside a mother and open our hearts and home to another precious child.
