RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:

Caucasian, Caucasian/Hispanic, Caucasian/Asian, Caucasian/African American

Dear Birthmother,

Dear Expectant Mother,

We are beyond touched that you took the time to read our profile. Adoption is something we hold close to our hearts. All we have ever wanted was to build a family—one rooted in love, respect, and understanding. We have always dreamed of becoming parents, and the journey to parenthood has taken us down this wonderful path we never could have imagined. We are grateful to you that it finally feels attainable.

Through both pet parenthood and being an aunt and uncle to our two precious nephews, we have realized life’s purpose and felt unconditional love. We cannot wait to translate those experiences into unmatched love for a child. Welcoming your child into our home will guarantee them a life of laughter, happiness, support, and stability. Not only will your baby be loved by us but by our vast extended family and close-knit group of friends. They will never know a day without love.

We deeply admire your strength and courage, and we truly respect and honor the choices you have made. There are not enough words to fully convey the depth of our gratitude, which will last a lifetime.

With love,
Alyssa & Matt

About

About Us

Hi there! We are Matt and Alyssa! We have been together for eight years and married for five this October. We both love traveling to new places, listening to music, trying local restaurants, spending time with our beloved goldendoodles Chance and Dublin, and hanging out with our close group of friends and both of our families. Our favorite traditions are celebrating the holidays with family, having both of our parents visit us several times each year, and traveling to St. Croix every summer. We both work from home, Matt in crisis communications and Alyssa in e-commerce advertising. In fact, we met at work (in our past roles) ten years ago. We were friends for a couple of years before sharing our first kiss during a friend’s birthday celebration. We have been together ever since.

Home

Our Home

Purchased in 2015, our three-bedroom home is a cozy space we have enjoyed renovating over the last three years. We are near a popular outdoor mall and many parks and outdoor spaces. Our two dogs make our home extra special, and they have thrived in brotherhood and love while spending time with Mom and Dad cuddled up on the couch watching reruns of our favorite shows in our upstairs loft, which doubles as a living room.

Extended Family Extended Family

Our Extended Family

We come from very different family backgrounds but have both thrived in experiencing each other’s family dynamics.

Matt comes from a very large family, with nearly 40 first cousins as his parents were each the oldest of six children. He has two siblings of his own, a sister and a brother, and is the oldest. His sister has two children who are two and four, so both of us have truly embraced the roles of aunt and uncle. Christmas is a special time of year for the family as both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are each spent with nearly 50 close relatives on each side of the family.

Alyssa comes from a much smaller family, with only five first cousins. She is also the oldest to two younger brothers, whom she considers two of her closest friends. Her parents love dogs, and this was passed along to her and each of her siblings as they all have dogs of their own. Alyssa grew up Jewish and enjoys introducing Matt to various traditions, such as Passover and Hanukkah. She also grew up in the Chicago area, so Chicago sports are a major part of her family’s life.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

We had plans to begin a family early on but did not anticipate the shifts in perception and circumstances during the pandemic, which also happened to be our first year of marriage. That said, adoption was always top of mind, and we even shared our thoughts with close family in the summer of 2020. Over the last few years, it was something we always came back to when discussing the future of our family. When our nephews were born in 2020 and 2022, we relished being their aunt and uncle, and this furthered our yearning to be parents. When it became evident that it might not happen naturally, we were certain adoption was the right path for us.
