Dear Birthmother,

As a mother, there will always be sacrifices to be made, but what you are considering doing for us is something that could never happen without your selfless support. We have dreamed of starting a family, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to do so with your help. Your baby will grow up in a home in which they will feel safe, valued, loved, and encouraged to be exactly who they are. We can only imagine the love you will pass on to your baby, and we will spend every day sharing that love with them.

We find it important to foster a sense of community to help your baby have a positive impact on the world around them. This will be encouraged on family hikes in the Cascades, building a love and growth mindset for school, trying different sports, and participating in activities like learning to play the piano to ultimately find whatever brings them joy. We will teach your baby the importance of loving others fully and finding the beauty in diversity, as well as how to graciously forgive others and ask for forgiveness. As we strive to make this all happen, we can guarantee your baby will be told puns and twice as many dad jokes as everyone else so they build a sense of humor. Thank you again for your consideration of us in your adoption process.

About

About Us

We met in Washington state while Geoff was finishing school and just after Scott moved from his lifelong home of Florida. Geoff was working at the coffee shop of his university and would often bring Scott afternoon coffee while his students were out to recess. Just a few years later, in 2016, we got married in Wyoming. Geoff’s childhood dream was to get married in the same church that his parents were married in, and we were able to make that happen. Scott works as a kindergarten teacher but has worked in almost every grade through fifth grade. Geoff has worked in coffee shops and has been working at a technology company for the last few years, helping to coordinate trainings across the world. We love to travel together, especially to visit our extended family in Colorado and Florida.

Home

Our Home

We live in an area just a few blocks away from a beautiful park near a lake. Geoff is a short two-block walk from work, while Scott has a car and commutes about 15 minutes. There are other parks, playgrounds, shops, and restaurants within walking distance from our place. We live in a spacious two-bedroom/two-bath apartment split between two floors. It's home for the two of us, plus our little chihuahua rescue, Oscar, who loves nothing more than to snuggle with us on the couch. We keep our home clean and tidy, but not to worry: there are often dog toys strewn about, and Geoff is a notorious pile-maker!

Extended Family Extended Family

Our Extended Family

Family is at the heart of our lives, as we both grew up with families that filled our lives with love, which is what we intend to infuse into our home and into your child’s heart every day. Sharing love feels like hosting Easter egg hunts, a tradition that Geoff grew up loving and continues to love to this day. Scott’s family had dinner together regularly so they could talk, eat, and laugh together. As Scott grew older, moved out, and began forging a life of his own, he continued being part of a weekly dinner together with his family, a tradition we will instill in our home. Our families continue to share their love with us, and Scott’s family and Geoff’s sister have even moved to the area to help love and support your child.

These traditions have shaped who we are and the warm memories that were made, which is why we plan to create some traditions for your child, as well. We love the holidays and we want them to be focused on love and togetherness for family, so our tradition will be pajamas on Christmas Eve while watching movies, drinking hot cocoa, and eating popcorn together. We believe this will leave a lasting impression of happiness and love in your child’s mind that they can take with them into the world.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

More than anything, we want to adopt to provide a safe and loving home for a little human whose mom is looking for the same. We each feel the need to give love to children and raise them to impact the world positively. Scott works with children every day and knows the gratification of shaping the lives of young students. Meanwhile, Geoff works in "corporate America," coaching other adults. He sees every day how our families shape who we are. For each of us, our connections with our own families and the importance of those relationships encourages us to make that space for a little family of our own.
