RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:

Caucasian, Caucasian/Hispanic, Caucasian/Asian

Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for considering me to raise your baby. Please know I understand life doesn’t always go as planned, and for you to consider me to be your little one’s mamma is truly a priceless honor.

My home and my heart are ready to take on motherhood, and I will do absolutely everything in my power to raise a baby who will grow into someone you would be very proud of. I believe education, diversity, life experiences, and limitless love are the foundation to raising a child. I lost my mother at 20 years old, and I would love nothing more than to pass along the life lessons she taught me throughout my childhood. We will garden, bake, play games, have adventures, and cherish time with extended family. I can already picture a movie and popcorn night with hot chocolate and a warm fire to welcome in the weekends as well as getting outdoors and exploring what nature has to offer.

While those things are years in the future, the amount of love, cuddles, and warm kisses from me and my extended family will let your baby know they are a part of my very special family.

About

About Me

I am an outgoing, fun-loving person who doesn’t mind being the center of attention. I grew up in a family with a sense of humor, and I tend to be fairly quick-witted and ready to make people laugh. I grew up with a strong lineage of hardworking women and have been told many times that I don’t let grass grow under my feet. While I have a very successful career in marketing, that work ethic applies to whatever it is I am doing: fixing up my house, yardwork, fitness, etc. I have a strong love for family, education, kids, and dogs! I work in the pet food industry because I think our furbabies are our first children. My dog, Percy, is the love of my life, and nothing warms my heart more than when I see him sleeping with my nieces when we are home for the holidays.

Home

My Home

While I am very outgoing, being at home is my happy place. I bought a larger home almost two years ago to prepare for a little one. I wanted to have three bedrooms. As a single mom, I know I will need my support system in my life a lot at the beginning, so I wanted to have a room for me, my baby, and my support. I love doing house projects, and this house has included a lot of yardwork to create a great outdoor space. I envision a swing set going in the fenced-in backyard, right outside of the picture window. My dog Percy is what makes this home extra special. I rescued him seven years ago, and we do everything together. We are a certified therapy team and often spend Saturdays in the library, where kids practice their reading skills by reading to him.

Extended Family

My Extended Family

I am the only girl in a blended family of six kids! Most of my siblings live near the farm where I was born, with families of their own. I spend as many holidays with them as possible. We are a big Christmas Eve family, and while our traditions have evolved over time with the blended family. The focal point for our holiday is always playing games of all kinds and eating my grandma’s famous butter cookies.

In addition to my biological family, I have a second family I am just as close to. I grew up with a best friend who is like the sister I never had. We’ve been attached at the hip since high school, and her family is like my own. She has three daughters, one of which is my god-daughter; they all call me Auntie H. I have watched their family and learned of traditions that I want to start with my family too. They read The Night Before Christmas together every Christmas Eve, and then all the kiddos go off to bed to wait for Santa to come.

Story

What Led Me To Adoption

Sometimes life doesn’t turn out exactly how you envision it. I thought I would be married with a handful of kids by this time in my life. I just haven’t found someone I want to spend the rest of my life with, but I still want to be a mother. I tried getting pregnant through a sperm donor and didn’t have any luck with that. During that time, I kept feeling a pull toward adoption, as it feels very natural to me. I know I don’t need to give birth to love a child as if they were mine biologically. I have a friend who is adopted and who recently met her birth mom. I see the love she has for her adoptive and birth mom and know that love and beautiful relationships can develop in a variety of ways.
