Shelby & Jacob
RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and considering us as potential parents. Growing our family has been our greatest desire for many years. If you learn one thing about us, know that we love with all our hearts, and we will love your child endlessly if you choose us. Adoption is pure and beautiful, and we are so happy we are finally on this path.
Our home is full of laughter, love, and understanding. We cannot wait for the day when we can take our child to all our favorite hiking spots, share the joy of reading Harry Potter, have family game nights, cook pizzas with Dad, and bake pies with Mom. Most of all, we cannot wait to share all the love we have to offer and see our child grow with the values we will instill. As parents, we vow to love your child through the sad times, ordinary days, and extraordinary days. Our purpose in life is to raise a family with endless love while letting them decide their own path but being there for it all. We will not only be parents but also guides, stewards, confidants, and role models. They will grow knowing they are a special gift given to our family by an incredibly kind and loving mother. We are so thankful for you and are ready to start this journey with you.
Twelve years ago our friends introduced us, and our connection was instant. Shortly after college, we got married, and now we are ready for our family to grow. Jacob is a kid at heart and can be found looking for nostalgic nerdy collectibles. He is a funny, patient, intelligent person who exudes kindness. Jacob is a special education teacher at our local middle school. Shelby enjoys long runs, tending to plants, and reading. She is hardworking, nurturing, and loyal and would do anything for the people she loves. Shelby is a customer service representative at a major headwear company. Together we love to hike, camp, kayak, travel, read, discover new food, play Catan, and simply be in each other’s company. We enjoy holidays and have created traditions that include making Halloween and Christmas sweatshirts, cutting down the perfect Christmas tree, and a family campout.
We live in a quiet neighborhood right down the street from a beautiful park. Our house is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a spacious sunroom and a backyard our puppy, Winnie, plays in. We also have a cat named Louis. Winnie and Louis can’t seem to get enough of each other. We know they would love a child to add to their pack. Our home is a great environment for a child to play, laugh, and explore. Our town puts on festivals often and has an excellent school district Jacob works for. Our favorite festival is the Blues Fest, where Jake’s dad plays in his blues band. Family and friends gather to watch while eating the most delicious BBQ.
Our Extended Family
We are both really close to our families. Jacob has three siblings who all have children. His sister actually adopted from Angel Adoption eleven years ago, right when we first started dating. His sisters live within four miles of our home, and his parents live down the street from us. We know our child will be spoiled with love and will be begging to go to Grandma and Grandpa’s any chance they get.
Shelby has a brother and a sister. Her sister lives nearby with her four children and husband. Her brother and parents live in a close town but often come to our town to say hello. We have a combined total of six nieces and two nephews who love to come over to see Uncle Jacob’s vast retro toy and video game collection and do crafts with Aunt Shelby. They all are anxious for a new cousin, and we cannot wait for them to make memories that will last a lifetime.
What Led Us To Adoption
Even before we got married, we discussed the possibility of adoption. Although this was decided earlier, we knew it was time to start growing our family a couple of years ago. It has always been something we both felt is really meant to happen. We have struggled with infertility, which is what truly solidified our decision to adopt. Our niece was adopted from Angel Adoption, and we cannot imagine our family without her. We have seen firsthand how adoption is a celebration of fate and can make a family feel whole. We would be forever grateful for receiving the gift of growing our family and can’t begin to express our gratitude.
