Dear Birthmother,
Dear Expectant Mother,
I can’t continue without first thanking you for considering my profile but, more importantly, for your courage and bravery as you explore this journey. Pregnancy was the most wonderful and also the hardest time of my life, and I pray for your comfort and peace, both mental and physical, during this time and beyond.
It’s hard to know what to say because I can’t imagine the difficulty of this decision for you, but I will try. Although I don’t know you or your story, should I get the chance to, I would be honored to be a part of it. I have my 11-year-old daughter, and she and I would love to complete our family. I won’t make empty promises of perfection, but I can promise I will always try my best and your child would be loved, cherished, and well provided for in a safe, simple home. Your child would have the love and support of family and know their story, built on the foundation of love only you as their mother can give.
Regardless if our stories end up being connected or not, I am grateful for you and your journey and in awe of your strength.
My Home
I am a Colorado native and blessed to live here in a beautiful city. My daughter and I live in a ranch-style home with my parents in a quiet cul-de-sac. The downstairs is finished, so we all have enough room. Our backyard extends to an open space, so we get bunnies and even deer in our yard. There are lots of neighborhood parks, including one of our favorites with a duck pond. We live in a great school district, but I was able to enroll my daughter in a charter school that better fit her needs. There’s lots of outdoor opportunities but also plenty of kid-friendly activities year round. We’re also an hour away from a bigger city that has sports, museums, an aquarium, music, etc.
My Extended Family
I have one younger sister and two nephews who live very close, and I see them usually several times a week. My parents are from Michigan and were the first of either family to venture out of state. Although I didn’t grow up with relatives other than visits and vacations, it brought my immediate family very close together. My dad comes from a family of eight, so lots of cousins on his side! My mom’s family wasn’t as large, and unfortunately most except a couple cousins have passed away.
I’m part of group text with my dad’s side of the family that is a constant source of laughter, pictures, and shared news, good and bad. My parents, sister, nephews, and daughter and I have been able to take a couple trips together and always get together for a meal, time together, and a couple games of Uno at all the holidays. We focus the holidays on the kids, and it’s so fun to see them enjoy it like my sister and I did growing up.
