MacKenzie & David
RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:
Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you for this selfless act. Thank you for considering us to raise your baby, care for them, guide them through life, and help them reach their full potential. In our home, should you choose us, they will have an easy life; they will want for nothing but still learn the value of what they have. Your baby will be loved beyond measure. They will be filled with laughter and happiness and surrounded by siblings and cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents who are all ready to shower them with affection and gifts.
Our home is in a constant state of controlled chaos, with glitter on every surface, crayons strewn all over the floor, toys in every room, and cookies being baked at any given moment. When we are not home, we are either at swim lessons, the zoo, a museum, or the park or on a hike. We want nothing more than for our children to be able to safely explore and learn about the planet around them. We hope to give them the world through travel and language. We want them to learn structure through sports and music.
If you allow us this incredible gift, you would be giving us the best gift we could ever imagine. They would have the BEST life, but ours would be even better because we would get to share it with them. Again, thank you for your consideration. Our home and hearts are open, ready, and waiting.
Hi! We are David and MacKenzie, and we met nearly ten years ago by chance at a military ball in our home state of Colorado. David is in the Navy, and MacKenzie is a stay-at-home mom. We have one wonderful little boy and one silly dog. Having lived on both coasts and driven the entire country twice, we found our love of adventure and want to pass along this wanderlust to our kids. We even hope to live overseas someday and learn new languages. In our spare time, we like to hike, travel, attend baseball games, and work in our garage. While David tunes up his motorcycle or repairs small engines, MacKenzie does carpentry and teaches our son all about tools. Above all, we love spending time together and are excited to grow our family.
We currently live in sunny California in a beautiful three-bedroom, two-bathroom home we have renovated ourselves. Our yard is the biggest in the neighborhood, with lots of space for running and playing. It is packed with bikes, toy cars, sprinklers, and a wooden climbing structure. Our neighborhood is located near a major city, the beach, and farms and ranches, so we get the best of all worlds. We can feed the local horses in the morning and visit the city or beach in the afternoon. Our kids will be able to attend a top-notch school district with some of the state’s best teachers.
Our Extended Family
David is the oldest of four, and MacKenzie is number five of six kids. Everyone is so excited and supportive of our choice to expand our family.
MacKenzie’s siblings are all married. She has two nephews, eight nieces, two great-nieces, and one great-nephew. Although they all live back in Colorado, we still talk weekly and FaceTime often. Our favorite tradition is our huge Thanksgiving dinner. Every year we gather together at her brother’s house to eat and exchange Secret Santa gifts. The next day we have a big competition. In the past, we have played flag football, kickball, and even Pictionary on a particularly cold year. The kids have already been planning whose team the baby will be on.
David’s sister and brothers are married. His sister, parents, and youngest brother all live in Colorado, while his other brother travels the world with the Navy. He has one niece and one nephew who are very excited for another cousin to play with. David’s parents fly out to see us as often as they can to snuggle our son as much as possible. Every year we meet at Grammy and Papa’s house for Christmas. We exchange gifts and spend the day eating and playing board games.
What Led Us To Adoption
We grew up with similar family dynamics. Our moms both loved every child who crossed their paths and welcomed them with open arms. Each of us has cousins who have been adopted and are thriving individuals because of the comfort and safety provided by our family. We know that love, not DNA, makes a family, and we are excited to grow ours through the beautiful journey of adoption. We are fortunate to have caring families who love without prejudice or condition and who support us fully in our decision to expand our family through adoption.
