Dear Birthmother,
We can’t even pretend we know what feelings you are going through while making this decision, but we want to thank you for even considering us to be a part of your plans. This decision is a very difficult one to make while also a very selfless decision. We know this is not something to be taken lightly, and we hope you can find some peace while going through this process. We respect your decision to choose the family you think will be best.
We just want you to know we will love this precious little one more than anything. We will do everything we can to give this child the life they deserve. We thank God for leading us down the path he has, providing us with the courage to follow this route. We will raise this child to know about God through us and our families. They already have so many family members who cannot wait to meet them!
Our children will grow up knowing they are adopted from the beginning; we want them to know their entire story. This child deserves all the love they can receive from all sides. We want to thank you for considering us and look forward to hopefully meeting you one day. No matter what, we wish you the best of luck in this process and thank you again for considering us.
Our Home
We live in the same small town we grew up in, so our children will go to the same schools we went to. Both of our parents live only a few miles from us. Our house is only 15 minutes from bigger towns. We have a split-level, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a deck on the back. Our house backs up to a field, perfect for children to run and play. We have two dogs, Roscoe and Remington. They both love children and always have to follow our nephews and nieces around when they are here.
Our Extended Family
We are both close to our families. Kris has one sister, who is married; they have a one-year-old. His sister currently lives out of state, but we try to take weekend trips to go see them as often as we can. For holidays, we get together with parents and grandparents and have dinner and play games.
Justine has two brothers, one of whom is married with three children, ages nine, six, and five. For holidays, we get together at our house with parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, and uncles and have food and play games. Every Easter we have a big Easter egg hunt in our backyard. In the fall, we try to go to as many pumpkin patches as we can get to. For Christmas, we get together and make ornaments with the kids and bake cookies.
We have friends who are like family to us; they and their three kids spend most holidays with us as well. Another group of friends we get together with every Sunday has two kids; we have family dinners and play games together. We can’t wait to add our children into the mix and start our own family traditions!
