Dear Birthmother,

Dear Expectant Mother,

We are so grateful you have given us the opportunity to share details about ourselves and our family as you consider an adoption plan for your baby. We can only begin to grasp the difficulty of your decision, and we are humbled by your courage and strength that has led you to choose adoption for your baby. The time, research, and energy you are putting into this process show that you have love for life, and we admire you greatly for starting this journey.

Our promise to you, if you choose us, is that we will respect you and whatever level of openness and contact you would like to have with your child, and you can be assured they will be cherished with every part of our hearts and souls. Our intention is to provide a safe and happy home with as many opportunities as we can offer to a blessing as precious as a child. God is a central figure in our lives, and your child would be brought up in a home that values kindness, generosity, and respect per the teachings of Jesus.

We have been blessed in many ways throughout our lives, and we hope we will be blessed with a child to love and nurture to be the best person they can be. We thank you for considering us, and please know we will be praying for you, wherever your journey may take you.

About

About Us

We are a loving couple who have been together for eight years, coming up on five years of marriage. Although being together for so many years has not led to a boring moment, we are always looking for new places to go hiking and fishing with our two dogs, or we also love taking on new projects to do around the house, such as repurposing old furniture, working on landscaping, and adding new plants to our expanding garden. We share a love for vintage items, and when renovating our home, we have tried our hardest to keep and enhance the character of our home, which was originally built in 1942. In our downtime, you can find us antiquing, cooking, watching old movies, or playing video games.

Home

Our Home

Our home is tucked away from the main part of town, but a short walk will bring you to the church and fire department on the corner that leads to many local shops and restaurants. The community is family friendly, and there are kids of all ages that ride bikes and create chalk art on the sidewalks. In the winter, the kids use the hill behind the church for sledding and snowman competitions. We enjoy our walks around the neighborhood with our dogs, Sammy the Corgi and Violet the Huskimo.

Our Extended Family

Our family is very important to us, and we typically see each other every weekend due to there being a large number of us. John’s side of the family is smaller, but they are very close. Family tradition is for everyone to gather each Sunday for a family meal that includes his parents and his sister and her husband and son. These Sunday meals consist of great food, watching Family Feud, and catching up on current family events.

Isabel’s family consists of her parents and younger sister as well as cousins who vary in age, the oldest being 24 and the youngest 16. With the cousins growing up together, it has given us the opportunity to be there for the many birthdays, graduations, soccer games, and school events.

Each family hosts a special holiday or event each year. We host Halloween and Easter; Isabel’s parents host the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve; John’s parents host Christmas Day; Isabel’s Tia hosts New Year’s Eve; and her cousin hosts a tamale-making party around the holiday’s as well. The parties always have games, food, and tons of photos to capture the day’s moments. In addition to the holiday events, the family comes together during the summer for BBQs in the park, where we play soccer, card games, share food, and enjoy each other's company.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

Adoption has been in our hearts for many years, and we have both experienced positive outcomes from adoption from within our own family and friend groups. John’s grandmother was adopted, and she was a beloved matriarch of the family for 80 years; should we be blessed with a daughter, she will be named after her great-grandmother in her honor. Isabel has a dear friend who has been in her life since high school who was adopted along with her two sisters, and growing up together, Isabel saw the abundance of love within their home and was inspired to one day have the opportunity to open her heart and home to a child through adoption as well.
