Dear Birthmother,

Oh my! Where do we begin? Thank you! Thank you for taking time to think about your plans. Thank you for considering the gift of life. Thank you for taking the time to check us out. Just thank you! We could not be more grateful for you. You are carrying this phenomenal gift you may bless a family like ours with. What an amazing and selfless act! We are grateful and humbled by your actions. While we cannot imagine the obstacles you are facing, we celebrate you in every aspect of the word for your courage and conviction.

While our journey of adoption is not the same, we hope to provide the same loving, stable, and affectionate home you are seeking for your precious baby. This process makes us nervous and excited at the same time, and we imagine you are feeling some of that too. If we are the best fit for you, know your sweet baby would be raised in a good home surrounded by lots of family, including a big sister who would spoil them rotten. We look forward to going on adventures and having as much fun as possible, even if it means jumping in a mud puddle after the rain. We aren’t perfect, but we would work hard to be perfect for them.

About

About Us

We met at a small restaurant in 2020 and never looked back. Our instant connection led to in-depth conversations about everything and nothing, which we continue today. Shasta has a daughter Eric adopted. Eric is hardworking, family driven and an amazing cook. Shasta is an amazing mother and has a love for people that instantly drew Eric to her. We live in a rural community in Northern California. Eric works in logistics, and Shasta is a social worker. We love spending time with our family (especially game night) and refinishing furniture. We enjoy going on adventures big and small that take us around the corner and around the world. We love to laugh and genuinely enjoy being together and sharing our lives. Life has been a joy since we met. It feels like we have been together forever or just yesterday, all at the same time.

Home

Our Home

We live in Eric’s childhood home in Rural Northern California where each family in our neighborhood has a couple acres leaving lots of room to play. Even with the space between us we have a very tight knit group of neighbors who compete for access to Shasta’s homemade cookies. We have a three-bedroom house we have turned into a warm and inviting home that is a favorite hangout for our nieces and nephews. Eric’s parents live around the corner and Shasta’s family visits often. Our community offers some of the best schools in the region as well as amazing parks. We have a three-year-old dog, Remi, who is convinced this is her house and can be found draped across the back of the couch where she can keep a loving eye on us.

Extended Family Extended Family

Our Extended Family

Eric comes from a blended family with two sisters and three nephews. Although blended, his parents get along great and worked closely together to plan our wedding. All his family lives in California. The family goes on yearly trips together. Eric’s family loves Shasta, and she is undoubtedly their favorite. (This is Shasta’s favorite joke to tell). Eric’s family was delighted to welcome Shasta into the family and was ecstatic to finally get a granddaughter.

Shasta comes from a large family that loves being together. One gathering for Independence Day was so large they needed the volunteer fire department to be on standby for fireworks. They are loud and love to laugh. She has three brothers and several nieces and nephews. We live a few miles from Eric’s parents and see them regularly. Shasta’s family was elated when we got married and frequently comment on how good Eric is to her.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

Shasta always knew she wanted to be a mom, and raising Bella has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of her life. Eric always thought he would be a bachelor and that kids might never be in the cards for him. After meeting Shasta and becoming Bella’s dad, he realized being a parent was something he never knew was missing in his life. Despite fertility treatments, we are not able to have biological children but would still like to share our lives and our love with another child.
