About Us
Hi there! Our names are Colton and Katherine aka “Jordan.” As a couple who just celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary, we can positively say we know everything there is to know about the other and are ecstatic for you to become acquainted with us! We first met while swing dancing in Texas and soon realized we attended the same college. We would find any excuse to hang around for the off chance of striking up a conversation with the other. While on our first date, a hiking trip to Enchanted Rock State Park, Jordan was heroically rescued by Colton from an aggressive caterpillar! Two years later, we became engaged on that exact same spot. As an established family in the Armed Forces, we have experience with all walks of life. Our hobbies and interests include our animals, traveling, cooking, hiking, museums, boating, flying, and, most of all, each other.
Our Home
We live in a beautiful, family-friendly neighborhood in Florida, surrounded by parks and walking trails. Our home is warm and welcoming, often decorated for holidays big and small and with plenty of space for a child to play and grow. We are lucky to have an excellent school district nearby that is known for its supportive teachers and small classroom sizes. We enjoy local attractions like the zoo, museums, and community events that bring everyone together. Our neighborhood is filled with young families that always have children playing outside. We also have two loving dogs named Gemma and Milo, who are gentle, playful, and already great with kids. They bring so much joy to our home, and we know they’ll be wonderful companions to our future child.
Our Extended Family
baby’s life. His grandparents, partially retired, are well-known Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clauses, spreading holiday cheer throughout the year. His parents, seasoned entrepreneurs, have owned multiple local small businesses. Colton also has three half-siblings, each with their own family, sharing a dozen cousins and eighteen nieces and nephews, six of whom are under the age of four. Together, they enjoy holiday traditions, camping trips, gathering for special occasions, making memories, and maintaining a strong family foundation for generations to come.
Jordan’s extended family is rich in love and deep bonds that will surround your baby. Her late maternal grandparents include a dedicated caretaker and a decorated Navy Corpsman serving in the Korean War. Her paternal grandparents met and fell in love while deployed in London. Jordan’s parents are a retired military and a homemaker. Jordan has three siblings, one of whom passed away due to a genetic disorder in infancy. Family traditions include holiday celebrations and sharing meals, with a special emphasis on honoring those who’ve passed, ensuring their legacy lives on through cherished memories.
What Led Us To Adoption
Both of us have always dreamed of becoming parents, with all the wonderful experiences that come along with this great responsibility. Unfortunately, fate has not blessed us with the ability to do so on our own, but rather destiny presented adoption as the more perfect path. Growing up, we both experienced firsthand the positive gift adoption is in the form of Colton’s mother’s adoption by her grandparents, his cousins’ adoptions by their grandparents, and multiple lifelong friends who themselves were adopted. These events left an outstanding impression of the joy and security adoption can bring, and even without knowing this would be our only path to parenthood, we decided we would adopt one day.
