RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:

Any

Dear Birthmother,

We want to start by saying thank you. Thank you for reading this and considering us to care for your child. We also want to say we respect that this may be one of the most difficult times of your life. We can't imagine the range of emotions you may be experiencing, and we recognize that. This process has brought up complex emotions with us as well, and we're aware of the continuation of these emotions, but are anxious to share in this experience and continue to grow as we experience all that this opportunity has to offer.

If chosen, we plan to raise your child as openly as we can, sharing as much information as we have with them. We will love this child as they are, and we will strive every day to ensure they know how loved and supported they are. We also feel strongly that this child should know as much about you as you are willing to share with us and them. We feel it's important for them to know where they come from and honor that as well.

What you are providing is not only a gift to us, it is our dream—to have and to build our family. We hope to honor that gift in any way we can.

About

About Us

Hello, thank you for choosing to look at our profile. We're very excited at the prospect of adopting. Brit is a career-focused tax attorney with many quirky hobbies, from bread baking to woodworking. Mal is an incredibly empathetic artist who loves working with her hands and taking up various hobbies, including woodworking and papermaking. Mal and Brit are very different people, and that is what makes our relationship work so well.

We are both fairly goofy and like to describe ourselves as adults who forgot to grow up and just like to have fun. While we take care of our house and everything else, we also love movies and TV shows, video games, exploring different foods, and playing games. We also love to garden and spend as much time outside—doing yard work, hiking, and playing with our dogs—as we can once the weather is nice.

Home

Our Home

Our neighborhood is a friendly one. We regularly speak to a majority of our neighbors. In the summer, on our street, you will see people walking on the adjacent hiking trail, fishing on the pond, and biking through the neighborhood. We have a lovely new library with a new playground that brings in people from many different towns in Massachusetts. Our good school district is one of the reasons we moved into this area. There is also a local vocational technical high school, should a child prefer that path. We have two dogs who are friendly and energetic. We have a fenced backyard that they love to enjoy along with the chickens that free range. We've created an edible landscape with fruit trees and bushes.

Extended Family Extended Family

Our Extended Family

Brit has two siblings, a sister and a brother, who both have children. Our niece and nephews range in age from 7 to 17. Our niece and nephews are all so excited at the potential to have another cousin in the group. Most of Brit's family lives in NJ, where she grew up.

Mal has one sister and a large extended family with lots of cousins, aunts, and uncles. Most of Mal's family is in WI, where she grew up.

Most of our family traditions center around holidays. We both love to entertain and love when the house is bustling with activity. We enjoy getting together with family and going out for new experiences. Last year around Thanksgiving, we visited the local botanical garden light show as well as a living history museum to learn about different kinds of holiday traditions throughout the world. We enjoy experiencing new things together.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

Our road to adoption was a thoughtful one. We have attempted to educate ourselves as much as possible around the process, the challenges, the benefits, and the struggles. Ultimately, our decision to adopt came down to our desire for children and to provide a loving environment for a child or children to grow up and develop in. We also honor and respect that the decision to adopt a child and the decision to place a child for adoption are deeply personal ones, and require significant thoughtfulness and reflection. Our only goal is to raise a child or children in an environment where they are loved and supported, feel safe, and can grow as freely as possible.
