Dear Birthmother,
We don’t know what brought you to consider adoption, but we understand this is a difficult decision and admire the courage it takes. We have wanted to add a child to our family as long as we have known each other. We hope you will consider us and we can get to know each other better. It is difficult to include everything in this letter and profile, but if you decide to choose us, we can promise you we will do everything we can to give your child the best life we can offer.
We are very family oriented and value time with friends and family. We live in a rural subdivision with many families that have children. We spend a lot of time with our friends and their kids here in our community. It is a great place for children to grow up and interact with others. The schools close by are some of the best and safest schools in the state.
We want to assure you that if given the chance, we will love your child with all our hearts and do our absolute best to raise them in a way that you would be proud of. We want to give them every opportunity in life that they desire. We hope we can get to know you personally. We appreciate your time in considering us and hope to talk with you soon. We understand everyone’s situation differs and respect your choice to be as involved with us as you wish. Regardless of your decision, we hope and pray the best for you and your child.
About Us
We met at a swimming pool and talked until two in the morning. After that day, we’ve been pretty much inseparable. Grant works for Special Operations in the Army, and Amy works from home watching her friend’s 18-month-old during the day. We love to travel. We take every chance we get to escape to a new place. We love going to the mountains to tube or hike and especially trying new restaurants. We love the water. If it’s warm, we are at the pool, beach, or lake. We spend a lot of time at our pool, grilling, and playing corn hole with our friends. We spend our nights eating dinner together, binge-watching Netflix, and fighting over a spot in the bed with our dogs, Sawyer and Mabel.
Our Home
We bought our home three years ago. From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. There’s tons of light, an amazing kitchen with a huge island for entertaining and cooking, walk-in closets, and a large, fenced-in backyard, which our dogs, Sawyer and Mabel, love! They have to say hello to everyone that walks by. We didn’t know when we moved in the neighborhood that our neighbors would be more than neighbors, but they are really like family. We are beyond blessed to have such great friends in our community. Many of our neighbors work in the same unit as Grant, so there are always friends and families here for support. Our community has tons of children ,that are always playing outside with each other.
Our Extended Family
Amy’s parents and younger brother live about 15 minutes away. Her brother and his wife have four kids: 12, 10, 8, and 5 years old. Her grandmother lives just down the street. Amy and her brother grew up in the country riding dirt bikes and making forts in the woods. Her nieces and nephews are carrying on these traditions today.
Most of Grant’s family lives in Michigan, with the exception of an aunt, an uncle, and a cousin and his wife. We spend a lot of time with them as well. We enjoy spending time with them at Drive Shack, cooking out, and going to the beach. During the holidays and special occasions, we make trips to Michigan or his family comes to visit in NC. Grant is the oldest of three sisters and a brother. Traditionally, we always play euchre when Grant’s parents and stepparents are in town or we visit them in Michigan.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have always wanted a family. Biologically, it hasn’t happened for us, and that may just be God’s plan. Since Amy was a child, she has always wanted to adopt. When it came to the decision to adopt, Grant never hesitated. Grant’s aunt was adopted as a baby, and they are extremely close. She has encouraged our adoption journey from the beginning. She has an amazing connection with her birth family as well. Which has inspired us even more to adopt. The more people that love a child the better! We aspire to give a child a family, sense of belonging, and a future to be whatever they have dreams of being. We want to be parents and give a child the best life possible.
