Dear Birthmother,

Dear Expectant Mother,

We cannot imagine the emotions you must have as you contemplate an adoption plan. We are in awe of your courage and strength in making this decision. Please know you will always be a part of our Ohana and held close to our hearts.

We want you to know we will love this baby. We can’t wait to bring an infant into our home. We became first-time parents to foster kids, and it has honestly been one of the best things in our lives. We love the kids who come to our home; they have taught us so much. We look forward to sharing life’s experiences with them and can’t wait to include a baby! We want to watch this baby grow with our family, take them hiking and camping, show them the tide pools at the coast, and enjoy family vacations (especially Disney). We want to teach them to be kind to all people and animals and to be good citizens of our world. We can’t wait to see them grow into who they are meant to be, whether that’s an avid reader, a kid who loves sports, one who may love to create and build, or a dreamer with an imagination big enough to change the world. They will be loved unconditionally.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us just a little bit. We pray you will find peace and comfort in your journey.

About

About Us

We initially met in college through friends and attended the same church but just didn’t make a connection at that time. Luckily, about seven years ago, we reconnected through a church dating site that allowed us to renew our friendship, date, and marry over five years ago. We love traveling, including in the mountains, at the beach, or on Disney vacations. Nate is the handyman in the family and enjoys woodworking, craft projects, and building Lego kits and is our Thanksgiving day chef! Allyson loves all things Disney, painting, country music, and training/showing dogs. Her passion for animals led her to a job she loves as a pharmacist who specializes in veterinary medicine. Nate works as an IT operator and is continuing his education to find a position that aligns with his passion. We also both work from home, a huge help to allow us to care for our foster kiddo and dogs.

Home

Our Home

We love where we live! Our two-story, four-bedroom traditional home is in a smaller town and awesome neighborhood. It is filled with families and kids who can play and enjoy each other safely. We love summer when we have the neighborhood kids over to play in the splash pad and slip-n-slide, grill food, and hang out until the sun goes down. We have a great-sized backyard with room for the kids and our four dogs to play together. We also can’t wait to help your child explore the parks, lakes, and rivers close by and the coast or the mountains only a few short hours away from us. We look forward to showing them the beautiful world we live in.

Extended Family Extended Family

Our Extended Family

Our family is so excited to welcome a new baby, including our foster kiddo. Our extended family is spread out in several states, but we love to video chat often and travel together when we can.

Allyson’s parents live only 20 minutes away, and they often help with grandkids and foster kids. They are super excited about having another grandchild to watch grow, go to sports competitions and choir concerts, and spoil them on trips. Unfortunately, Nate’s parents have both passed away, but we keep them close in our hearts and know they would be excited for us. They loved all their grandkids and will continue to be a source of inspiration for us.

We love being with extended family and friends on holidays but especially on Christmas Eve with Allyson’s family. It can be a little crazy (up to 65 people), but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We enjoy going to Nate’s brother’s home when the weather is nice. We also have wonderful friends who are like family who live close by, and we spend a great deal of time together and are an extensive support system to each other.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

We’ve always known we wanted kids. We learned early that we would not be able to have biological children, but we have both been touched by family members who expanded their families through different adoption journeys. We decided to start as foster parents and began welcoming kids in May 2020. Our current kiddo has been with us for almost three years and has been a huge joy and light in our lives. We try to teach all the kids who come to our home that they are part of our Ohana and will always be loved and remembered. We never put our dreams of adoption away and felt it was time to start this path as we hope to bring a little one to our family.
