RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:

Caucasian/African American, African American, African American/Hispanic

Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. As adopted children with adopted siblings, we understand the experience of children who are adopted. We know this is the biggest decision you will make in your life, and we think you are the bravest person we know. We understand life is complicated and not always black and white. We understand mothers do everything in their power to give their child the life they want them to have, and we would be honored to provide a comfortable, safe space for your child to grow and live their best life.

Even if you don’t choose us, we know this has been an impossible decision, and we are proud of you. We have longed to be parents, but we want to make sure our hopes and dreams for our future child align with your hopes and dreams for your child too; we will do everything we can to make those happen for them. We know we have so much to offer a child, and if you believe we are the right choice for your baby, then nothing will stop us from being the best possible parents for them.

About

About Us

Since our first date, we have been inseparable. We love hosting family and friends for barbeques and game nights at our house, going to Washington Nationals baseball games, taking road trips to Charleston, and traveling to as many places as possible. Since we bought our house last year, it has become the hub of all family and friend gatherings. We balance each other out really well. Eric is extremely extroverted, while Adrienne, though outgoing, is quite introverted. Our household is full of laughter and fun at all times. Adrienne works in higher education and runs a student success coaching program that helps students with their transition to college. Eric is a lead carpenter for a major high-end building and design firm.

Home

Our Home

We live in a townhouse with three bedrooms and three baths in the suburbs. Our house is on a quiet, family-oriented circle with a pool, a playground (which we frequent quite often with our niece), and one of the best school systems in the country. We live in a diverse area where our future child will be able to meet other children from all walks of life. Our dining room is the hub of our household. This is where we get together with family, play games, watch TV, share family meals, and just hang out. We love living in northern Virginia as we are close to the beach, mountains, parks, museums, amusement parks, and, most importantly, our families.

Extended Family Extended Family

Our Extended Family

We are very close to our families as just about everyone lives in the area. Adrienne’s mom lives about 20 minutes away, and her brother, sister-in-law, and baby niece live about 10 minutes down the road. Adrienne is close with her extended family in Ohio, where we have spent the last few Thanksgivings. Eric’s family is much larger than Adrienne’s! He has a sister, step-siblings, and lots of nieces and nephews. His sister and nephew live about 20 minutes away. His father and stepmother live about an hour away, and his mother and stepfather live part-time in California and Kentucky. We see them frequently.

Our families make the effort to come together to celebrate everything, no matter how small. They supported us when we decided to cancel our large wedding to invest in a house for us and our future child. We are extremely grateful to have a supportive team in our corner, and we know they will go out of their way to support our newest family member.

Story

What Led Us To Adoption

Adoption was always on the table for us. In fact, on our first date, we talked about our adoptive history and discovered we were both born in the same hospital. For some adopted children, it is really important to have biological children, but we believe it is just as important to give a child who is adopted the best possible life regardless of genetic makeup. Being adopted children, we always knew we wanted to expand our family through adoption. We want to be able to give our future child the same amazing opportunities we had growing up. We both have that gut feeling that guides us through our decision-making process and know adoption is 100% the best choice for us.
