Abby & Ryan
RACE OF CHILD INTERESTED IN ADOPTING:
Dear Expectant Mother,
We want to recognize your selflessness and generosity in your consideration of us to raise your child. It is truly a blessing. As parents, we recognize the complexity of this decision. We have the experience of birthing our first child and the ability to relate to you as a parent. We value the decision of an open adoption so you have the opportunity to continue to tell your story and have a relationship with us and your child if you choose us and are interested.
We will provide a loving and fun home with core values of kindness, respect, compassion, service, embracing differences, and perseverance. We have so much more love to give and are anticipating sharing our love of music, nature, family, and our faith with another child. We take raising a child as a good human very seriously and promise to instill our core values in our children. We cannot wait to travel, hike, camp, cut down our Christmas tree every year, make s’mores, or simply have more sounds of laughter from our house. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your consideration.
Abby and Ryan
We dated throughout college and graduate school, marrying in 2013. Abby is a physical therapist who helps others achieve a better quality of life. Ryan utilizes his expertise with advanced technologies by leading a team in the insurance Industry. We have encountered obstacles throughout our seven years of marriage but also many blessings. We welcomed our son, Elliott, in 2017. Ryan values optimism, hope in all situations, and striving for excellence daily. He is a source of laughter and is a magnetic force. Abby values service and living a life of compassion. She is perseverant, evidenced by overcoming many obstacles. We are devoted to each other and put our faith and family first. We believe in being kind and respectful to all people, embracing differences, and learning from other people and situations. As parents, we strive to be examples, modeling these behaviors to instill these values in our child.
We live in a two-story, three-bedroom house with a basement and a beautiful backyard. We share our home with Frank, our dachshund. Frank has been a part of our loving home since 2013 and has taken the role of Elliott’s big brother. On any given day, you will see Elliott driving cars, biking, climbing, reading, doing crafts, or swinging on the swing set. On any given night, you will see us singing and listening to music, enjoying the outdoors with hiking and biking, spending time with our beautiful friends and family, grilling, or enjoying a bonfire. We always make it a priority to walk through the endless trails and forest preserves around our home every night, no matter the season.
Our Extended Family
We are blessed to have a supportive and loving extended family, including our friends we call family. During our trials, our family is always there to offer support and love, and they are always there to celebrate our successes. They have played an intricate role in every stage of our lives. Our family is so excited for us to pursue adoption.
Holidays and birthdays are always celebrated, along with just enjoying the company of each other on other days. Both sides of the family are fun and hold each other to a high standard. We are constantly pushing each other but always have fun. We enjoy the traditions of holiday baking, exchanging gifts, playing board or card games that can get competitive, enjoying time on the lake or in the outdoors, and singing to each other on every birthday. We could not ask for a better family.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have continuously discussed adoption as a way to expand our family. After Abby’s postpartum journey, she is unable to have another child naturally, and the journey has opened the doors to adopting a child. We know other couples who have adopted and have seen how amazing the process has been for them, giving us hope to expand our family. We know we will provide a loving home for any child and are confident this is the best path for us. We see adoption as a blessing to us, the birth mother, and the child. It is truly a beautiful and selfless gift.
